L.O.O.N.S ( Limbless Organisation Of Northeast Scotland ) Aberdeen’s local Amputee Support Group have a busy time over the next month or so…….. The local Charity, is Fund Raising to assist with the purchase of a new state of the art piece of equipment, at present only available in America...the ' Dermagold 100 ' an ultrasound machine which alleviates Stump pain and Ulcers after operations. It can also be used in the general treatment of Ulcers and other problems. At a recent LOONS Meeting, the Guest Speaker was Mr Paul Bachoo, (Consultant Vascular Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Vascular Surgery ) who has had one of these machines on loan from the USA and is hoping to raise £ 40,000 to purchase one for the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Also assisting with Fund Raising, has been the Macdonald Family from Alford, who recently took part in an 80 mile, Walk, Cycle, Portascoot Ride from Culter into Aberdeen before returning via the old Deeside railway line towards Ballater then on to Loch Muick before returning Home. This epic journey was arranged to show appreciation from the Family of Marion Macdonald, 80, who has benefitted from trials of the Machine at the ARI.
